Differential Analysis of ARX Block Ciphers Based on an Improved Genetic Algorithm

Differential cryptanalysis is one of the most critical analysis methods to evaluate security strength cryptographic algorithms. This paper first applies genetic algorithm search for differential characteristics in cryptanalysis. A new proposed as fitness function generate a high-probability characteristic from given input difference. Based on found by algorithm, Boolean satisfiability (SAT) used all its calculate exact probability. In addition, penalty-like also guide direction application stochastic Our automated method applied SPECK32 and SPECK48. As result, 10-round probability improved 2 −30.34 , 12-round SPECK48 with xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">−46.78 achieved. Furthermore, corresponding attacks are performed. The experimental results show our method's validity outstanding performance
